Skip with about 1 million new oysters, holding them over an upweller.
About as small as we see it, each of these are ~1.5mm in size.
After 7 or 8 days in an upweller, these oysters have doubled in size.

When the oysters arrive from our hatcheries and dip their toes in Duxbury’s clean, clear water, the stress really begins for our growers. Keeping track of millions of oysters the size of a grain of sand isn’t easy. This is the first step in an 18 month process.

Razor Clams are dug by Island Creek Growers and sent to restaurants around the country.
