Whether a sunny summer morning in July, or a snowy cold afternoon in January. Island Creek growers can be seen in their boats across Duxbury Bay. To the naked eye, it looks like they are going in circles. What they are actually doing, is dragging.

Every spring growers battle the “brown frown”, a type of seaweed that makes harvesting oysters nearly impossible.
